Acadian was a brand created by General Motors (GM) of Canada. It was essentially a line cars that were sold exclusively in Canada. The production of Acadian vehicles took place from 1962 to 1971. The Acadian brand included models such as the Acadian Beaumont. After 1971, the Acadian nameplate was discontinued.
There were attempts to revive the brand using the Beaumont nameplate in the late 1970s to 1980s. The Beaumont models during this period were essentially rebadged versions of other GM vehicles, often sharing platforms with Chevrolet and Pontiac models.
