The Briscoe Motor Corporation was an American automobile manufacturer that operated from 1914 to 1921. Founded by Benjamin Briscoe, the company aimed to produce affordable cars for the middle-class market. The Briscoe automobiles were known for their sturdy construction and reliability. The company’s most notable model was the Briscoe Model B “Four-Ninety,” introduced in 1915, which gained popularity for its affordability and performance. However, financial challenges and intense competition led to the eventual closure of the company in 1921. While the Briscoe Motor Corporation had a relatively short existence, its legacy remains in the history of early American automotive manufacturing, representing an attempt to provide accessible transportation during the formative years of the industry.
