Rod Action

Rod Action Magazine debuted in August 1972, launched by Ray Brock after his years at Petersen Publishing. Edited by LeRoi “Tex” Smith with staff including Dick Wells and Brian Brennan, it was one of the first titles to embrace the growing street rodding movement. Sold to Challenge Publications in 1973, the magazine later came under Brennan’s leadership and was retitled Street Rod Action in 1989. Alongside Street Rodder, it played a pioneering role in capturing the energy of the early street rod scene.
