ATS (Automobili Turismo e Sport) was an Italian automotive and racing company founded in 1962 by former Ferrari personnel who sought to establish their own mark in the automotive world. ATS aimed to compete with Ferrari, particularly in motorsports. The company produced both road cars and Formula One racing cars. The ATS 2500 GT, introduced in 1963, was a limited-production sports car featuring a sleek design and a V8 engine. In Formula One, ATS participated briefly, fielding their own cars. Despite early promise, financial challenges led to the closure of ATS in the late 1960s. While the company’s existence was relatively short-lived, ATS left a mark on automotive history, particularly for its endeavors in both road car production and Formula One racing during a dynamic era of Italian automotive innovation.
