ISO was an Italian automobile and motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1939 by Renzo Rivolta. The company initially produced refrigeration units before venturing into the automotive industry in the 1950s. ISO became renowned for its luxurious and high-performance GT cars, notably the ISO Rivolta, Grifo, and Fidia models. These vehicles combined Italian design flair with American V8 power, offering a unique blend of performance and elegance. ISO also produced the Isetta microcar under license from BMW, which became popular for its compact size and quirky design. Despite its innovative designs and engineering, ISO struggled financially and eventually ceased production in the early 1970s. However, ISO’s legacy lives on through its iconic cars, which remain cherished by collectors and enthusiasts for their distinctive style and engineering prowess.
