Siata, short for Società Italiana Applicazioni Trasformazioni Automobilistiche, was an Italian automotive manufacturer known for producing high-performance sports cars and racing cars. Founded in 1926 by Giorgio Ambrosini, Siata initially focused on modifying and tuning Fiat vehicles for motorsport competitions. In the post-war years, Siata began producing its own cars, including the iconic Siata 208 and Siata 300 BC, which featured stylish designs and powerful engines. Siata cars gained recognition for their success in motorsport events such as the Mille Miglia and the Targa Florio. Despite its relatively small production volume, Siata earned a reputation for innovation and performance, making it a respected name among automotive enthusiasts. Although the company ceased automobile production in the 1970s, Siata’s legacy lives on through its classic cars, which remain prized collectibles admired for their craftsmanship and racing pedigree.
