Squire Cars Ltd., a British manufacturer established in the 1930s, holds a significant but brief place in automotive history. Specializing in producing high-performance sports cars, Squire aimed to rival prestigious marques like Bugatti and Alfa Romeo. The company’s most famous creation was the Squire 1½-Litre, a sleek and stylish sports car powered by a potent inline-four engine. Despite its impressive performance and elegant design, the Squire 1½-Litre struggled to gain traction in the market due to its high price tag and limited production numbers. Only a handful of Squire cars were ever built before the outbreak of World War II forced the company to cease operations. Today, surviving examples of the Squire 1½-Litre are highly sought after by collectors for their rarity, craftsmanship, and contribution to British automotive heritage.
