The 1947 Willys models were introduced in January 1947. Model year production peaked at 33, 214 units. Calendar year sales of 33,214 cars were recorded this year. Willys-Overland Motors, Incorporated was headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.  The 1947 version of the Willys Station Wagon had the option of 2- and 4-wheel drive added, the car was otherwise unchanged from 1946.

Models Offered

For 1947, Willys carried over the all-steel, truck-type, station wagon, using the 134-cubic inch “Go Devil” four-cylinder engine and 104-inch wheelbase chassis.  The Station Wagon continued to be the Willys’ only car-like vehicle.

Power Train Options

  • Three-speed manual transmission with overdrive was standard. Heavy-duty air cleaner.
